Hi, I’m Sara!

the artist

Born and raised in Jacksonville, NC, I moved to Wilmington in 2018 after meeting my husband. We married in 2021 and share our lives with two sweet pups, Lilly and Judge — they’re our whole world!

My career began in Dental Assisting, but after four years, I wanted more freedom and creativity. I enrolled in Esthetics at CFCC, and shortly after, I discovered cosmetic tattooing. Following specialized training, I transitioned to full-time cosmetic tattooing + esthetics in 2019.

Port City Brows, LLC officially opened in 2021 when I launched my first suite, and since then, I’ve been dedicated to helping clients feel confident and effortlessly polished through customized brow services.

I’m an iced coffee girly (the sweeter, the better), a proud Swiftie, a Gemini, and a book lover with a soft spot for romantasy and crime thrillers. I love the little joys in life — good music, cozy nights, meaningful conversations, and moments that feel warm and intentional.

I love the Lord, and while my faith is personal, it quietly shapes the way I live, work, and care for others. It shows up through kindness, integrity, and the intention I bring into every space I’m part of.

I’m a drummer’s wife, so music has always been woven into our life together. Outside of the studio, I love taking my dogs on walks, especially sunset walks at the beach (we’re definitely sunset-over-sunrise people). I’m happiest when the sun is shining, I’m well-caffeinated, and I’m surrounded by the people I love — usually over good food and something sweet.

I’ll be the first to admit I’m a non-confrontational girly at heart. I care deeply about people, sometimes to a fault, and I’m always learning how to confidently stand behind what I believe in and the boundaries I’ve set. Growth, grace, and showing up with intention matter deeply to me — in life, in business, and in the way I care for my clients.

I love the little joys in life.

I was born and raised in Jacksonville, North Carolina, and coastal living has always felt like home to me. In 2018, I made the move to Wilmington after meeting my husband — a decision that felt both exciting and completely right. We married in 2021 and are building a life rooted in faith, love, and lots of laughter. Our two dogs, Lilly and Judge, are truly our whole world. Whether we’re spending time with family, hanging out with friends, or enjoying a quiet night at home, those simple, meaningful moments are what I value most. Family has always been a grounding force for me, and staying connected to the people I love is something I hold close. It’s shaped who I am and influences the way I approach both life and business — with care, intention, and a deep appreciation for the relationships that matter most.

Before stepping into the beauty industry, my career began in Dental Assisting. While I loved caring for patients, after four years I realized I was craving more creativity, flexibility, and fulfillment. I wanted a career that allowed me to connect with people while expressing myself in a way that felt meaningful — though at the time, I didn’t even know that was possible.

I grew up in a household that wasn’t particularly enthusiastic about tattoos, and I never considered myself especially creative. I didn’t draw, paint, or make things — my “artistic side” was mostly limited to my love for skincare and makeup. It wasn’t until I was enrolled in the Esthetics program at Cape Fear Community College that I discovered cosmetic tattooing through social media. Watching artists transform brows and enhance natural beauty sparked something in me I didn’t know existed: a deep, creative passion I hadn’t yet tapped into.

After completing specialized training, I transitioned into full-time cosmetic tattooing and esthetics in 2019. Port City Brows officially opened in 2021 with the launch of my first studio suite. From the very beginning, my goal has been to provide customized, natural results that enhance each client’s features rather than overpower them.

Today, I’m thrilled to announce the evolution of my brand from Port City Brows to Port City Aesthetics. This change gives me a renewed sense of excitement for what I’ve been building and allows me to fully showcase the range of services I offer — from brows, lips, and eyeliner to esthetic treatments like waxing, lash lifts, and laminations. Port City Aesthetics isn’t just a business; it’s a reflection of my values, creativity, and the thoughtful way I show up for each person who trusts me with their care. I’m excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to help clients feel confident, polished, and effortlessly themselves.
